Mrs. Monk's Would-be Diary, should have been written by Mrs. Monk, since she is the "Writer" in the family.
However, since she is a writer only in the conceptual sense, I have undertaken to fill these pages on her behalf.
If not by her, these pages will certainly be about her, and other important matters of the day

Leslie Monk, the long suffering.

24 April 2004 Big Fat Trombone
A Concert at the Barbican. Nina Rota's music. He of the Felini movie music and The Godfather theme.
Principle musicians: Carla Bley and daughter, Beth Orton and Marian Faithful with very short insubstantial cameos, but no matter, for it was a memorable concert. Lots of accomplished Italian brass in spite of a somewhat overblown and overweight attention-seeking trombone player. He milked his solo on the Godfather theme with volume and bravura, but sadly lacked other musical qualities throughout the evening. Nevertheless Mrs Monk noted the attention the fat man got, and now wishes to take up the trombone.
And I do wish that was a joke.
